PEARL CARE GUIDE

Pearls are natural organic gemstones and should be treated with care to preserve their beauty and lustre over time.

With proper care, your Pearl Oasis Studio jewellery will maintain its elegance for many years.

After Each Wear

After wearing your pearls, gently wipe them with a soft, clean cloth. This helps remove any natural oils, perfume, makeup, or other residues that may have come into contact with the pearl’s surface. Over time, these substances can affect the pearl’s colour and natural lustre.

Avoid Perfumes and Lotions

Pearls are sensitive to chemicals and acids commonly found in products such as perfume, hairspray, cosmetics, tanning products, and lotions. Always apply these products before putting on your jewellery, and avoid direct contact with pearls. If your pearls do come into contact with these substances, gently wipe them with a slightly damp soft cloth to remove any residue.

Avoid Water Exposure

We recommend removing pearl jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, or entering hot tubs or pools. Water and chemicals, particularly chlorine, can damage the surface of pearls and affect their natural lustre. Additionally, prolonged exposure to water may weaken the adhesive used in some pearl settings.

Check the Stringing

For pearl necklaces and bracelets, it is important to occasionally check the stringing. With regular wear, pearls should generally be restrung every 24 months, depending on how frequently the jewellery is worn. This helps ensure both the safety and longevity of your pearls.
